1. Brand

Google has been one of the favorite brands for many as they will not compromise in the quality. Just for the sake of quality people prefer brand and Google is a perfect answer for people who love to keep their hands on a branded product. Google Nexus 7 is co-developed by Google and a Taiwanese PC maker Asus. This tablet is also featured in UK based tech magazine “Tomorrow’s Technology Today” in short T3 as the “Tablet of the Year” and “Gadget of the year” beating its rival Apple iPad.

2. Features and Hardware

The Nexus 7 is said to have nice features with 16GB internal storage expandable to 32GB, Android 4.2 OS Jellybean, running on a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor with 1 GB of RAM. It is also talked as one of the lightest tablet weighing just 340 grams. Coming to its display it supports a HD display with a resolution of 1200 X 800 with a 7-inch screen covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass for extra protection. It has a 1.2 MP front camera but no rear camera which can be talked as a con for this tablet. This tablet connects only via Wi-Fi, but also has Bluetooth and Near Field Communications (NFC) support, in addition to USB, MicroUSB, and GPS. It has a keyboard which supports gesture typing which is nothing but it predicts the next letter which you are going to type.

3. Preloaded apps

As usual Nexus would be coming with some preloaded apps and they will be exclusively Google’s own apps like, Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, Gtalk, Google+ etc. It gives access to Google Play the giant Google app store which contains more than 700,000 apps. The Nexus 7 will also have Google Now app, which provides loads of information as the day progresses. It gives information like weather report of the day in the morning and traffic updates, scheduled meetings and bookings for movies or flights will also appear as the day goes on. This Google Now app is designed exclusively for jelly bean and worst part is it is not available in the Google play store. So on buying a Google Nexus 7 you can play a bit with this app on how it works.

4. Gaming

As said earlier it has a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor with 1 GB of RAM which surely helps in a smooth and great gaming performance. It also has a separate 12 core graphics processing unit (GPU) for gaming, in addition to an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. So now you might play some of the games comfortably which used to crash in your low end tablet. So if you are a gamming fan than you should try Nexus 7.

5. Battery backup

This is one of the most looked features in any gadgets available these days. A good battery backup a good response a bad battery backup poor response. Google Nexus 7 has good battery backup with 8 hours of HD video playback, 10 hours of Browsing or e-reading and 300 hours of stand by time. Its official page also says that you can spend less time charging and more time doing.

Conclusion

This tablet doesn’t support SIM card feature and it also hasn’t got a good camera. It has just a 1.2 Mega pixel front camera and is devoid of a rear camera. So apart from these disadvantages this Tab is going to be a great buy. We should see how Indian market accepts Google Nexus 7 tab. It comes into market with a price of 15,999 although few sites are giving a discount of 500 Rs on using their coupons still the rate seems to be a bit debatable issue. Anyways are you planning to buy a Google nexus 7 Tab?
