Lumia 928 : Nokia’s 2013 Flagship Phone
Samsung and Sony have announced their flagship phones for this year as early as January. In April, Nokia has also announced its latest model which is called Nokia Lumia 928. The expected release was May.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and Sony’s Xperia Z have made a stir among mobile phone consumers as these models have several features to boast of. Some of these are the faster processor and camera with better capabilities and features.
Apparently, the two brands have an earlier release of their latest models which are expected to gain more sales as these have the time advantage. However, a three-month difference could still be handled well if the latest from Nokia has new offerings that could drive a lot more consumers to purchase it.
Below are the specs and features of Lumia 928:
Dimensions and Display
The dimensions of the new Nokia phone are 1333 x 68.9 x 10.1 mm or 5.24 x 2.71 x 0.40 inches. The weight is 162 grams or 5.71 oz. It is a little thicker and heavier than the S4 and Xperia Z. So, if you are after a more lightweight phone, these figures could be an issue.
For the display, the type is AMOLED capacitive touchscreen in 16M colors. The size is 4.5 inches with 768 x 1280 pixels and 332 PPI pixel density. It is multitouch and has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 as its protection.
Unlike most recent Smartphone models, Lumia 928 has no slot for a micro-SD card. However, it already has a 32 GB internal memory with 1 GB RAM. For many users, they definitely want to have a bigger memory space.
That is why they prefer models that have card slots so that they can expand the memory to up to 64 GB. However, having too big memory can slow down processes such as loading of apps. On the other hand, there are also a lot of people that prefer phones with bigger internal memory so that they won’t need to expand it and don’t suffer from its negative effects on the operating system.
For its camera, Lumia 928 has an 8 MP back camera with 3264 x 2448 pixels, optical image stabilization, xenon flash, autofocus, and Carl Zeiss optics. For its features, it has panorama, geo tagging, PureView technology, 1.4 µm pixel size and 1/3.2” sensor size.
The S4 and Xperia Z may have higher MPs but the features of Lumia 928 would surely make it possible to produce photos with very high quality. Definitely, this phone is also great even in low light environments.
Aside from the aforementioned, the phone has other great features such as the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 as its OS. The chipset is Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU. The GPU is Adreno 225.
These make the operating processes of Lumia 928 much faster. It can put the fast processor of the S4 to a match. When it comes to messaging, it has IM, push email, MMS, email, and SMS in a threaded view.
With all these capabilities and features, the Nokia Lumia 928 might not be as good as the S4 and Xperia on some aspects but it is definitely a great phone for business use. Business people won’t surely have difficulties in using it to access the phone system and RingCentral services, which have been making thousands of communication systems more functional and reliable.
